As such, the current BOP Operational Level will not match the current CDC Community Level.īOP continues to collaborate with CDC to further evaluate and evolve BOP Operational Levels in a manner to provide the least amount of disruption to visiting and institution programming while maintaining the highest level of protection to staff and inmate patients against COVID-19. Rather, to remain consistent with CDC Congregate Setting Guidance for all correctional institutions that provide healthcare, the data utilized to determine the BOP Operational Level for a given institution is the community transmission rates, institution vaccination rates, and inmate patient COVID positivity rates. CDC Community Levels are not currently utilized in determining BOP Operational Levels for individual institutions.
